Chief AI Ethics, Governance and Curriculum Officer at Zen

As a doctoral student in Data Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), I have dedicated my research to Ethical AI Governance, Data-Driven Decision Making, and the effective communication of scientific insights, which are pivotal aspects of responsible AI implementation in the public sector. My doctoral studies have provided me with a strong technical foundation at the master's level, equipping me with the skills needed to engage in sophisticated data analysis and develop AI solutions that cater to public and social good.
My research project, the Open Explainability Protocol (OEXP), exemplifies my commitment to ethical AI and responsible governance. OEXP aims to establish a universally accepted standard for conveying the outputs of autonomous systems, a crucial step in enhancing user interactions with AI-based systems. I believe that the work I have been involved in will be directly relevant to the measurement work on AI in government.
In addition to my research, I am actively engaged in various initiatives related to transparency, openness, and ethical considerations in AI and data-driven technologies. I currently serve as a research collaborator at AIAAIC, where I contribute to enhancing transparency and openness in artificial intelligence, algorithms, and automation. I am also part of the IEEE P7003 group, where we are drafting a proposal for Design-Centered Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) and Governance with a focus on algorithmic bias considerations. My work at the World Ethical Data Forum, where I am developing a taxonomy for AI Risks and challenges, demonstrates my commitment to understanding and addressing the challenges in the AI domain.
