Tricia Fuglestad is a national board-certified elementary art teacher with 30 years of experience. She is also an author, illustrator, animator, and artist from Hoffman Estates, Illinois. With a master's degree in K-12 tech integration, she has successfully blended digital and physical art techniques in her transdigital lessons, available at fuglefun.com. Her innovative approach aims to expand the curriculum, provide students with opportunities to explore new media, and find transformative ways for them to dynamically demonstrate their learning. Tricia's classroom has been featured in educational publications and higher education textbooks. Her students' Fugleflicks, student-created art-related videos, have been screened at international film festivals and have received multiple contest wins and awards. Throughout her career, Tricia has been recognized with numerous state and national awards for her innovation and dedication to art education by organizations such as NAEA, IAEA, Golden Apple, PBS, Artsonia, and ISTE.
It has been her dream to engage children worldwide with captivating books that blend her teaching experience, artistic talents, and the transformative power of augmented reality, making reading immersive, imaginative, and truly (Fugle)fun. Her new interactive AR SEL children’s book, PETER O’ Meter, has turned her dreams into (augmented) reality.
